Macarthur is a region located southwest of Sydney with a high residential population. It includes both Campbelltown and Camden. The region is in the foothills of the Blue Mountains and Southern Highlands. Macarthur has a rural character; however, this is quickly changing. The region has become one of the fastest growing in the metropolitan area. Many suburbs have begun to appear in the region in recent years. Numerous parks, sanctuaries, and other attractions are located in this growing region, already popular with tourists.
