Hills District is the unofficial name for the more remote northwestern suburbs of Sydney. Many of the included suburbs have the word ‘hills’ in their name, and the area is comparatively hilly in its topographic character. This district is considered very affluent with a high quality of life. The population is about 167,000 with a large percentage of the residents being over 55 years old. The area also has a high rate of attendance of religious services and is sometimes nicknamed the Australian Bible belt.
